It's the Canada Day long weekend...and you know what that means?  It's time to show off our Canadian Spirit (and the cute onesie Auntie C bought me!).  Oh Canada!!!

Surprise!

Yesterday, Troy had his first surprise party...and his second birthday cake!!  My girlfriends stopped by with cake and pressies for Troy.  It was so much fun to celebrate Troy's first year with them.  We also had a chance to talk babies because Canan is expecting a boy in July!

Thank you for being such awesome friends and amazing "aunties" to Troy.

Looney Tunes

Daddy and Troy like to watch Looney Tunes while having breakfast on Sunday mornings.  Mommy doesn't usually let Troy watch cartoons while eating, but since she was allowed to sleep in...the boys snuck in some time with Bugs Bunny.

Daddy, do we get to watch cartoons?
Okay...I won't tell Mommy either!
Breakfast with Bugs
that Bunny is funny!

Playoffs and Popcorn Twists

The Stanley Cup Playoffs are on...and that means watching the hockey games in Daddy's "man den".  Troy gets the best seat in the house - his exersaucer complete with snack tray.  And, what goes better with Playoffs than Popcorn Twists!

GO CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS!
The game is on!
Time for another popcorn twist

C is for Cookie

C is for Cookie...and, more importantly, Chocolate Chips!  Mommy made some yummy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and she let me try one.  It was not at all like those "other things" she was calling cookies (mum mum crackers and arrowroot cookies).  These were soft and chewy and had chocolate chips in them!  As my t-shirt reads...I said "later gator" to that cookie in no time!!

Coooooookie
Yum, Yum, Yum, Yum, Yum
Oh yeah...those chocolate chips are good
Except, they're making a mess in my hand
I can forgive you cookie
Chewing and smiling is hard work
Wiping off the crumbs
Whooops...I think I dropped some?

Carting

Troy reached a new milestone at the grocery store today.  He sat in the cart.  That's right...no car seat, no baby carrier...right in the cart!  At first Mommy was overjoyed with the freedom and Troy immediately loved the new ride.  However, Mommy soon realized that with this new freedom comes new challenges...like keeping little fingers out of EVERYTHING!!!!  Whoever designed those candy displays at the till should be given a one-year-old to shop with for a day.

Standing strong

Troy is getting much stronger on his legs.  He can usually be found climbing up on anything in sight.  It won't be long before he gets brave enough to take a few steps.

Standing tall against the chair
Showing some muscle
Finally able to stand up to the baby gate
Grip 'n' grin
Whadda ya mean you're not letting me out?
I just need to grow a bit more and I'll be breaking out of here soon
