Making a Mark

Troy loves to "colour".  Which means using Mommy's sharpies.  Most of the time is spent taking off the lids and then putting them back on...tightly. Today he found out what happens if the marker gets too close to your nose :)

two.

Troy turned two.  To celebrate we had a hot dog party with Auntie C and Jude.  (editors note: Troy's birthday was June 11 and that is when we had the party.  However, we moved into our new home the next day...so this blog post has been delayed due to the unpacking of boxes.  We are settling in and I hope to keep the blog updated more regularly)

I'm two! (and I finally got a haircut)
Time to decorate for the party.
Where should this balloon go?
I know...this haircut makes me look at least three :)
Auntie C is helping me show "two" on my fingers (I prefer to add 1+1)
Everyone shows us your "two"
HOT DOG PARTY!
This coconut cupcake looks delicious
What?! I have to wait until the candles get lit?
Jude is showing me how to blow out my candles
Now it's my turn...all by myself??
pheee phew
It's not working, is it?
The candles are melting on my cupcakes!
Try, try again
It worked!
Can we eat them now?
YUMMMMMY
Thanks Jude for showing me the birthday ropes...can't wait for your birthday party!

Do I Need a Haircut?

Chances are if Mommy can put your hair in a pony tail (and you are a boy)...it's time for a haircut!  Here is Troy enjoying himself in front of the mirror (seated comfortably in the bathroom sink) with a few hair accessories.  Rest assured...the haircut has been booked :)

Troy in his "up do"
What!?  You think a hairband and a pony tail is one accessory too many?
Maybe I need some bangs...
Oh yeah...now that's what I call a hairdo
Wait...my ponytail needs backcombing
Hey this comb is also good to chew on!

Playtime

Here is Troy enjoying the playground next to Auntie C's house.  There are usually more kids joining him (however the weather was threatening rain so perhaps their moms were able to convince them otherwise).  Troy has mastered the slide and is now working on climbing the bars...which keeps Mommy on her toes (in flip flops on gravel...ugh).

Ice Cream

Auntie C has introduced Troy to ice cream.
Look...Auntie gave me ice cream...in a cone!
It's chocooooooolate
Licking with vengeance
I think my tongue is frozen
Did I get a bit on my face?

Papa

Troy had his first tractor ride!  Papa took him out for a spin around the yard.  He even had a chance to raise and lower the bucket.  Troy has not stopped talking about that tractor ride...especially the part about the bucket going up and down (complete with hand gestures).  Papa also always complied when Troy would ask to play downstairs...taking him by the hand and letting Troy take the stairs...step...by...step :)

Look Mommy...I'm driving Papa's tractor!
Tractor Boys
Turn here, Papa?
Whoa...that's cool!!
Troy trying his hand at working the bucket
Hey, this is FUN
Ok...I need to concentrate now
Hey, Sammy...you'd better move
Look Mommy...Papa and I are playing cars (again)
See...you let the cars run down the ramp
And then you clap and cheer!!

Gramma

Troy went to visit Gramma and Papa (Mommy was there too!).  Gramma taught him how to bake sugar cookies and egg noodles (which essentially meant letting him eat as much dough as he wanted!).  They also had a special routine of touring the house and "watering the birdie" in the laundry room.  I don't know who had more fun...Gramma or Troy...but I do know that they both slept really well :)
Getting ready to roll out the dough
Watching carefully (so is Papa!)
Can I eat it yet?
Like this, Gramma?
Taste test!
I think I'm better at eating cookies than making them
Gramma even gave me my own apron
Time to water the chickie
Here birdie, birdie, birdie
Noodle time
Can I taste the dough?
Hey where are those cookies we made?
YUM
Gramma's house is delicious
