Take me Outside

Troy loves to be outside - especially with Daddy.

Hey Daddy...the leaves are turning yellow!
Hey, the sun is bright!
Daddy's giving me a lift

I'm the king of the castle (you're the dirty rascal)!!
Off-roading
Wheeeeee
Yes...I still refuse to wear shoes and socks on my walks :)

Head Start

Troy was "using his head" at the playground...literally...to break a fall from the climbing wall.  The gravel proved to be less than soft for a landing - but it hasn't stopped him from continuing to play on the equipment (even in his own alternative ways!).

Snow Day in September

Yes...it snowed...in September.  And while all other Calgarians were cursing the unseasonal weather...Troy was EXCITED!  He couldn't wait to go play in the snow.  Thankfully his 'muddy buddy' still fit (sort of) and it was warm enough for him to wear his rain boots.  If nothing else, it served as a good reminder that we need to get shopping for some winter gear :)

Let's GO Mommy!!!

This snowman needs some work
Look...the snow slid down the slide!
Mommy, why aren't you helping me with the snowman?

Snow ROCKS!

Kayben Farms

Today Troy and I went to visit Auntie Lorraine and Dylan at Kayben Farms. Dylan works there, in the kitchen...and he even pulled some strings to get us in the adventure park for free...wheeeee!  It took a while for Troy to warm up to the place - but once he did...there was no stopping him (not even for lunch).  Thankfully they put picnic tables everywhere so that Lorraine and I could enjoy a tasty lunch while Troy played (and ate a lot of sand and dirt-covered snacks).  Dylan even made us fresh donuts (with glaze!) in the outdoor kitchen. What a treat :)

Hmmmm....I think I see Dylan over there?
It is Dylan...cooking at the wood-fired oven
Of course Troy found a swing (shaped like a car...how perfect)
Then it was off to Wheat Wonderland
Wheat makes for an interesting sandbox

The sign of a very good time...a face (and entire body) filled with dirt and sand
I am pretty dirty, eh Auntie Lorraine?
Thanks "big cousin" Dylan for showing us such a yummy good time
I can't believe how much fun I had!!

Old Fashioned Fun

Troy and I joined Auntie C and Jude on a trip back in time...to Heritage Park.  It was so delightful to walk through the old buildings, ride the carousel and play with antique toys.  We enjoyed the charm of "simpler" times.  Although we did joke that simpler did not mean easier (the woman baking with a wood burning stove on a hot muggy day reminded us of that!)  We certainly appreciated our air-conditioned car afterward :)

Making a Mark

Troy loves to "colour".  Which means using Mommy's sharpies.  Most of the time is spent taking off the lids and then putting them back on...tightly. Today he found out what happens if the marker gets too close to your nose :)
